This triple signed dress watch is an incredible gem, that seemlessly blends stunning traits and a lovely condition. First and most notably the less common rose gold case was produced by C.R. Spillmann & Co S.A, typically known for their waterproof chronograph cases. Furthermore, the high-end Cal. 453/3B and the beautifully aged dial surely demonstrate that simple doesn’t have to be boring. MODEL / REFERENCE: Vacheron Constantin 18k dress watch, ref. 4195.

DIAL+ HANDS: The satin silver dial is simple and brings the type of elegance we’ve come to expect from Vacheron Constantin. It is in lovely vintage condition accentuated by a touch of homogenous spotting patina and no blemishes or stains to the surface. The black imprint is sharp and complete, from the minutes chapter to the brand’s name and subsidiary seconds at six, that add a charming representation of its era. The highly-polished, applied numerals and spherical indecies are all present and corrosion free. Their golden colour contrasts beautifully with the rest of the dial creating a mesmerizing effect under different angles of light, just like the matching baton hands, that appear to be correct to this reference.

CRYSTAL: The Plexiglas crystal is in immaculate, scratch-free condition.

CASE: The Sleek round case features a sophisticated design, with superb definition to the sloped bezel and down-turn of the lugs that comfortably hug the wrist. With a 35mm diameter, and 40mm from lug to lug, this solid rose gold case is still supremely elegant, all while keeping perfectly balanced proportions. Overall, the case is in good condition but appears to have been polished. It shows even lugs, few signs of wear throughout and no major nicks to its surface.

CASEBACK: The snap-on case back in 18k solid rose gold has been likely polished and it comes in good aesthetic condition commensurate with careful wear, displaying no noticeable scuffs or marks. The inner side is clean and bears all the period-correct stamps, over a nice perlage decoration. The Poinçon de Maître displays the number 136 hammerhead indicative of the case maker: C.R. Spillmann & Co SA.

MOVEMENT: The watch is powered by the rare calibre 453/3B. A technical gem that reminds us of traditional watchmaking’s hayday, this 17 jewels movement displays a masterfully-executed “Côtes de Genève” decoration and a highly-polished swan neck regulator. This high end calibre is based on a Jaeger-LeCoultre 449 ebauches. Cherry on top, it has been adjusted to various temperatures. The movement has been fully serviced in 2018. It has been checked by our watchmaker, runs strong and keeps good time.

CROWN: The timepiece comes with an unsigned, slightly embossed crown that bears the period-correct shape. It operates flawlessly, from winding to time setting.

BRACELET: dark brown leather strap with white stitching and a solid gold Vacheron Constantin pin-buckle. At the lugs, the strap measures 20 mm.

ACCESSORIES: Saffiano Leather Watch Roll and a 2018 service warranty card.
