DIAL+HANDS: The clean, glossy surface is complemented with a sharp silver text. The onyx presents no cracks or marks, apart from some “freckles” between 11 and 12 o’clock. Along with the correct silver leaf hands in nice condition, the ensemble contrasts beautifully with the black color of the dial.
CRYSTAL: The mineral crystal is immaculate without visible scratches.
CASE: The svelte solid gold case measures 22mm across and 32mm from lug to lug. The raised bezel contributes to the excellent design that transcends generations. The surface shows light wear throughout, consistent with age and careful use but no indication of over polishing as it maintains its vertical brushed finish, a crisp hallmark on the side and well-defined bevels on the sides.
CASE BACK: The pressure-fit case back is in good condition, seen by the residue of the sticker glue and the beautiful vertical brushed finish. The stamped reference number shows a bit of fading to it. The decorated inner side is clean and bears the period-correct stamps. The Poinçon de Maître displays the number 38 indicative of the case maker: Max Fuchs S.A.
CROWN: The original crown bears the brand’s signature and operates properly.
MOVEMENT: The in-house caliber 1-42 is a simplistic yet reliable, manually-wound movement, featuring 17 jewels and an incabloc shock protection device. The numbered caliber is in excellent mechanical condition, winds smoothly and keeps accurate time, despite the unknown service history.
BRACELET: The genuine, black leather strap with crocodile motif is signed Universal Genève. It is barely worn and comes with an original, golden pin-buckle.

Given that vintage watches are antique collector items, we do not provide any guarantee on movement accuracy, water-proofing or any other mechanical guarantee unless it is mentioned in the product description.
We check all watches when listing the watch for sales, and again before shipping. In rare cases, shipping can cause the movement problems. Therfore, please check all functions of the watch upon receipt. Should you find any issues, please notifiy us by email without dealy.
