We are proud to present this all-original, prime example of a military-styled chronograph issued by Heuer. This military styled chronograph from the mid 1930s, with its gilt, black dial and solid gold case exemplifies the influence of sporty traits over dressier noble metals, a trend that would be later embraced by numerous manufacturers after World War II.

Thanks to its compelling 1930s cues and excellent condition, it has much to offer, both aesthetically and technically. Furthermore, the exceeding rarity of this configuration makes this chronograph much interesting already. With loads of attractive features, this beautiful and rare relic from the golden age of chronograph production has stood the test of time to testify on Heuer’s successful attempt to combine handsome aesthetics and technical prowess in a way that is sure to delight. MODEL / REFERENCE: Heuer multiscale gilt dial chronograph in 14k yellow gold, reference 2403. The serial number is 37’177.

DIAL+HANDS: The superb black dial is nicely garnished, without compromising legibility thanks to its intact, highly contrasting gilt imprint and “big eyes” referring to the oversized subdials at three and nine o’clock. Somehow, the dial remains not only incredibly intact without any scratches or marks; It has developed a rich and charming “tropical” spotting patina consistent with its age. The 1/5 minute divisions at the center feature prominent Arabic numbers and are surrounded by a Telemeter and Tachymeter scales respectively, that allow the measurements of distance between two events and speed over a known distance. They are beautifully orchestrated and their execution is nothing short of spectacular. The gilded leaf hands appear to be correct to the watch, contrast beautifully against the black color of the dial and display light signs of age.

CRYSTAL: The unsigned acrylic crystal is newly fitted and a faithful replacement to the original. It is in excellent aesthetic condition. Any marks you may see on the pictures were taken before the replacement of the crystal.

CASE: The three-body yellow gold case in 14k has an elegant wrist presence with a 38mm from lug to lug and a sweet spot diameter of 33mm for any baby chronograph aficionado. The case is still in amazing condition considering its age and does not show signs of over-polishing, with strong profiling lines, even downturned lugs and a sloped bezel. There is an inconspicuous mark at 7 o’clock on the bezel and some damage to the right bottom lug. Please refer to the pictures.

CASEBACK: The snap-on case back in 14k solid yellow gold has been lightly polished thus it comes in good aesthetic condition, displaying no noticeable scuffs or marks. The inner side is clean and bears some prominent service marks along with the period correct hallmarks and stamps such as the case’s serial number and a hammerhead “Poinçon de Maître” indicating the case maker: Baumann, Benguerel & Co.

CROWN + PUSHERS: The grooved, flat crown is unsigned and appears to be period correct replacement. It is in good condition and operates flawlessly, from winding to time setting. The golden olive pushers operate as intended, starting, stopping and resetting the chronograph functions.

MOVEMENT: The high-quality, manually wound Landeron 13 calibre with a column wheel features a two-button, two-register chronograph, with constant running seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30 minutes totalizer at 3 o’clock. It has been serviced recently by our watchmaker thus it ticks strong, keeps good time and the chronograph module works correctly.

BRACELET: This chronograph comes equipped with an 18mm, genuine lizard strap in black and an unsigned golden pin buckle. Please note that some pictures show and old leather strap, which has been replaced in the mean while
