We are proud to present this wonderful Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6518 that drips with class and understatement. Introduced at Baselworld in 1954, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 6518 boasts everything a collector seeks in a classic vintage Rolex watch. From its early Oyster case to the caliber 1030, the first automatic movement made by Rolex that wasn’t based on an Aegler Hunter movement.
This 6518 is an overwhelmingly beautiful vintage Rolex with gorgeous details that let a collector’s heart skip a beat.

MODEL / REFERENCE: Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6518. The movement serial number 602xxx dates it to approx. 1960.
DIAL+ HANDS: The creamy white dial is clean and immaculate and appears to have been refinished somewhere in the past. The black imprint is complete, from the radial minutes track to the center text and “Swiss” denomination. The roulette date disc at 3’oclock is also clean and sharp. The dial is accented by applied rose-tone faceted markers and coronet giving it immense character. Each one is coupled with an intact lume plot towards the outer edge of the dial that boasts a slight patina. The look is all wrapped up by a rose-toned alpha handset and a blued steed central seconds hand. The hour and minute hands are dissected with intact luminous inlays that beautifully match the aged radium on the markers.
CRYSTAL: The thick acrylic crystal displays a Cyclops lens at 3’oclock and looks overall clean, with very few scratches all over.
CASE: This reference features the classic stainless steel Oyster case measuring 34 millimeters in diameter, that comes topped with a beautiful smooth bezel. The case wears larger than the size would suggest thanks to its long, drilled lugs. In overall good vintage condition, the surface shows some signs of polishing in the past, along with fine surface scratches and marks, especially on the bezel and top of the lugs.
CASEBACK: The stainless steel case back is in decent vintage condition overall, with fine scratches throughout and an undamaged knurling. The inner side is clean and stamped with the period correct nomenclature and displays a 6108 reference number that uses the same case construction.
MOVEMENT: This timepiece comes equipped with the 1030, in-house caliber, the first directional automatic winding movement with a butterfly rotor. Featuring 25 Jewels and running at 18000 bph, the movement has been adjusted to five positions as well as temperature. It is clean and fully functional thus it winds smoothly, runs at a high amplitude and keeps good time.
CROWN: The period correct Rolex crown displays a worn off coronet and a Swiss cross underneath it, symbolizing the technical waterproofness patented by Rolex. The crown screws down tightly, pulls out to the winding, and time setting position perfectly.
BRACELET: This Rolex comes on a 20mmblack leather strap with crocodile motif and an unsigned stainless steel pin buckle.
ACCESSORIES: Saffiano Leather Watch Roll. The Rolex reference 6518 does not strain to be noticed. This is a remarkably beautiful piece that would add class and sophistication to any enthusiast’s collection.
