The Excelsior Park Monte Carlo is a distinctive neo-vintage chronograph that perfectly embodies the genre of watches that holds special fascination for many collectors. During the 1980s, this model was crafted with components sourced from iconic brands, most notably the movements supplied by Breitling. The overall aesthetic reminiscent of the iconic Zenith Cairelli CP-2 chronograph adds some promising potential for value appreciation over time. MODEL / REFERENCE: Excelsior Park Monte Carlo Chronograph reference RF 7740.
DIAL+HANDS: The matte white dial features a three register chronograph layout indicating constant running seconds at 6 o’clock, a 30-minute counter and a 12 hour totalizer at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively. The date window, between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers features a clean disc. Although it shows very minor spotting, the dial is incredibly intact without noticeable damage. The phenomenally preserved printing is original. From the brand name and small registers, to the outer minute track surrounding the edge of the dial. The five-minute luminous Arabic numerals are outstandingly preserved. The correct hands show intact Tritium inlays that pleasantly match the hour marker’s creamy color.
CRYSTAL: The acrylic crystal is in very good condition, showing barely visible marks and hairline scratches.
CASE: The two-body stainless steel case keeps its true, essence with an impressive diameter of 43mm across and 52mm from lug to lug. The matte surface, with its satin finish, is still in lovely condition considering its service age and does not show signs of extensive polishing, or much at all. The uni-directional, rotating bezel is intact and shows no signs of wear or scratches. Designed with legibility in mind, the red arrow at 12 o’clock and Arabic quarters allow the measurement of elapsed time at a glance.
CASEBACK: The stepped, screw down, case back is in good overall condition, seeing the well-defined engravings and some scratches on top of the unaltered finish. The inner is clean and bears the crisp stamps of the case’s serial number.
MOVEMENT: The manually wound, Valjoux 7740 calibre features a two-button, three-register, chronograph display and a date feature. The movement is clean, it has been checked for good timekeeping performance thus it ticks strong, and the chronograph functions operate as expected.
CROWN + PUSHERS: The screw-down crown is original despite being unsigned. It is in good condition and operates flawlessly, from winding to time setting. The pump chronograph pushers operate crisply. They start, stop and reset the chronograph module exactly at 12.
BRACELET: 22mm beige Hirsch leather strap with a quick release feature with its stainless-steel pin buckle.
ACCESSORIES: Saffiano Leather Watch Roll.

We check all watches when listing the watch for sales, and again before shipping. In rare cases, shipping can cause the movement problems. Therfore, please check all functions of the watch upon receipt. Should you find any issues, please notifiy us by email without dealy.
